There’s A Uncontrollable Magic To Certain Jerseys
Last night the Lakers wore their Mamba jerseys as they faced off against the Nuggets in game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. The Lakers looked like they were dead, as Jokic hit a hook shot with 20 seconds left on the clock. It looked like the Nuggets were going to tie the series, until Anthony Davis dropped his giant balls on the entire city of Denver. With 2 seconds left the Nuggets completely forgot about the best player on the Lakers, and AD hit a 3 to win the game.
After AD hit the game winner he screamed Kobe. It was a perfect ending for the perfect night for the Lakers in their Mamba jerseys. The Lakers are undefeated while wearing the jersey and after the game AD had this to say.
Now maybe it was the fact that AD is really fucking good at basketball or it was the magic of the Mamba jersey. There’s certain jerseys that have magical powers. The Mamba jersey might be one of those jerseys. Another jersey that was magical was the 2011 White Road jerseys for the New York Giants. The Giants had no right to win the Super Bowl that year as they finished 9-7. They finished with a -6 points differential which is the worse of any Super Bowl Champion. The Giants are the only team to win the Super Bowl as the 4th seed in the NFC. The Patriots ended the season 13-3, but the Giants had the magical jersey. The Giants defeated the Packers, 49ers, and Patriots all while wearing the White Road jersey. Now maybe the real reason the Giants won is because they had an amazing defense, and that there was no true magic in those jerseys.
Will the Mamba jerseys end up having the same affect as the 2011 White Road jerseys? Only time will tell, but as it’s going now the Lakers look to be the favorite to win the finals.
