Covid-19 Can Act as a Ploy to Cancel Greek Life

Since the Clock hit Midnight on January 1st, the year 2020 quickly settled in. Celebrities have unexpectedly passed, a global pandemic asserted itself in all our lives and racial tensions couldn’t be higher–Almost of all of which are dividing our country.
We haven’t even reached August!
It seems like each month the tensions that resonate from the solid base that is 2020 affect a new group of people. As August comes calling, schools are at the forefront of both legitimate and illegitimate ridicule. As many Universities around the country look to open campuses this Fall, it’s only right that both triggered politicians and the woke community have their say on the matter.
Although writing about groups of triggered people and woke communities within Universities would make for a lengthy yet entertaining book, I unfortunately have a word count.
So… Let’s talk about Greek Life.
Greek Life serves as a community in which groups of either men or women create both brotherhoods and sisterhoods that last a lifetime. To be a part of such a group takes time and effort in order to prove your place in what are very prestigious University chapters.
And the Triggered Wokists sing “Cancel Cancel Cancel!!!” on high.
While the Greek community is often shamed (usually by those not involved or by the sophomore who is suspiciously over-apologetic over her white privilege) Covid-19 and the reinvigoration of Cancel Culture has made for the perfect platform to destroy Greek Life as we know it.
I like to call this an “anticipation piece”, as I presume once school begins this Fall, University councils and increasingly liberal campus directors will pounce on all Covid-related violations committed by Greek Life communities. On many campuses, groups and gatherings cannot exceed 40 people. Uh oh…most houses double that number with live-in occupants.
Parties? Don’t even think about it. I can only imagine police departments and Universities alike salivating over free reign on Greek communities. A global pandemic is the excuse they were waiting for.
Cancel culture enthusiasts envision the horrible men and women that Greek Life breeds. If only there was some way to cancel Greek Life. Well if a George Washington statue can be defaced, then Greek Life should watch out…We’re on the menu.
