Ranking NBA Prospects By Only Their Mixtapes
The NBA’s offseason is in full affect as rumors are flying, and players are begging to be traded. We have had the Bucks go all in for trading for Jrue Holiday, and Bongdan Bogdanovic, the Rockets are imploding as both Harden and Westbrook want out. This has all happened before free agency has opened, and before the NBA Draft. The best reality tv show which is the NBA offseason isn’t even in full affect yet. Tomorrow night is the NBA Draft where most teams will probably be dumbasses and choose the wrong players, and fans will boo when they’ve gotten an amazing player. Looking at you jackass kid who booed when the Knicks drafted Porzingod. Us fans always know more than the people who actually get paid to make these decisions. Fuck looking at college stats, their athleticism, and their fit on a team lets go by who has the best mixtapes.
- Anthony Edwards
Imagine if you mixed Donovan Mitchell’s body, D Wayde’s explosiveness, and Oladipo’s shot creation that is what you will see in this mixtape. Edwards looks like a man among children as he is dunking the fuck over small white kids. He is driving towards the basket finishing with circus style layups or dunks. A lot of mixtapes are just showing off dunks, and how athletic players are. This mixtape also shows Edwards shot creativity as he is crossing people up, and hitting contested jumpers. There’s a reason why he’s projected to go first in the draft tomorrow.
2)
Lob dunks, blocked shots. Repeat after me lob dunks, and blocked shots. That’s what you will find in this mixtape. His player comparison is Bam, and that is 100% true. I don’t care that he can’t shoot 3s, he’s a big man who can block shots and catch lobs which is always fun.
3) LaMelo Ball
LaMelo is by far the most popular mixtape on YouTube. This is from last season when he played in the NBL, but his high school mixtape has over 2 million views. I could post that one instead, but I can’t stand to watch his fugly shooting form that he has since changed. You will not find any defensive highlights in this mixtape, but you will find crossovers and lots of them. LaMelo has the best handle out of any of these mixtapes, and is not afraid to show them off. Also if he can make an easy layup he rather switch hands like he’s Michael Jordan or something which is always sexy. Unlike his brother it looks as if LaMelo will actually be competent from behind the arc.
4) James Wiseman
A big man who can also shoot oh baby!! Now Wiseman only played for a couple of games in college before he got busted for getting that bag from Penny. In those few games he showed what a potential star he could be. If you were a big fan of Amar’e Stoudemire then you will love Wiseman. He will thrive in an offense that’s build on pick and rolls as he can throw down dunks, and hit an elbow jumper. If Golden State takes him then there’s no doubt he will be an amazing player as the Warriors are always light years ahead of everyone.
The rest of the mixtapes shows how bad this draft class is. As the rest of the players in the top 10 barely have over 10 thousand views on their mixtapes.
