Henny’s Mid-Week Slate

With College football in Mid-season and Basketball starting in under 15 days, there is no better time to introduce myself than now. I am “that guy” in every friend group that gambles too much. I have been handing out picks to colleagues, fraternity brothers, friends and relatives for years. It has finally got to the point where they have pushed me to start sharing my picks with the world.

I am very grateful TFM is giving me a platform to share my information to assist fellow gambling degenerates. The picks I will be sharing are strictly for college sports. That is because if you saw the number in red on my account after Sunday’s NFL slate, you would understand. Fortunately for me, my college picks are where I thrive.

I could have waited and not bothered with the Mid-Week MACtion, but what type of college sports gambler would that make me? Its only right my first post is about the MACtion. For those of you who don’t know what I am referring to, well its arguably the worst football conference in all of the D1 FBS. The Mid American Conference has the wildest of games. Give it a google, you will be baffled. From mysterious power outages to horrible defenses, the MAC has it all. Majority of the teams are so bad, that it actually makes the games very interesting to watch. If you are a football fan or not, you will still be able to find these games quite comical.

Let’s get to my picks for tonight and tomorrow’s games. The first three are tonight, the last three are Wednesday night.

Akron @ Ohio (-27.5) O/U 59.5

Akron is probably the worst team in the worst conference. They went 0-8 last year and I dont see them getting a single win more than that this year. They lost their last game 58-13. I like Ohio here

Kent State (-20.5) @ Bowling Green O/U 56

Bowling Green allowed over 520 total yards last week in a 38-3 loss to Toledo. I think my 5th grade Pop Warner defense could have allowed less yards than that. The Golden Flashes of Kent state looked pretty good last week against a decent Eastern Michigan team. With that I am going with the Flashes.

Miami – Ohio @ Buffalo (-8) O/U 56

This game is the battle of the power house teams in the MAC East. Miami (OH) won the conference championship last year, finishing the season at 8-6. The issue here is, the Redhawks are missing some of their players after being suspended indefinitely after brawling with my Theta Chi fraternity brothers up there in Oxford. Miami had a difficult time with Ball state last week as well. So I will back my brothers, and chose Buffalo here. Both teams have very powerful offenses, with shaky defenses. The combined yards for and against are 779/875. Which means there should be A LOT of points on the board tonight. TAKE THE OVER.

Eastern Michigan @ Ball State (-8.5) O/U 60.5

This game will be interesting for sure. Both teams played fairly well in both of their one score losses. My brother who went to Purdue, only refers to Ball State as Testicle Tech, and I shall do the same. Testicle Tech only lost to the reigning conference champs by 7 last week in a 38-31 game. With that being said I don’t think they will be able to cover 8.5. To be completely honest, I may sprinkle money line at +260 on this one. Eastern Michigan is being slept on as a team this year.

Toledo @ Western Michigan (-2.5) O/U 59.5

These two teams played the worst two teams in the conference last week. These teams won by a combined 80 points, and combined for over 1000 total yards! That is absolute bananas. So are both of these teams just that good, or does Akron and Bowling Green just Suck & Blow? I don’t feel confident in picking a winner for this game. It honestly could go either way. If I have to take something, I am taking this over.

Central Michigan (-7.5) @ Northern Illinois O/U 57.5

I love Daniel Richardson. He is the 5,9 205lb QB for Central Michigan. When you see him walk on the field, you think to yourself no way this guy is a Division 1 quarterback. He doesn’t look like the guy who can go for 243 passing yards and a TD, but guess again. He throws an incredible ball. If I had to compare what watching him throw the ball looks like, I would say its like watching your partner splash every time in beer die. The issue is that Central Michigan has no defense what so ever. There will be a lot of points scored tonight. Enough where that extra half point makes me nervous. If you got balls take Central Mich 7.5, but my advice is to buy the half point.

That is all the games from now until Thursday. I will have another post Thursday night for my picks on Thursday and Friday’s games. Please let me know in the comments if you are riding with me or fading me. That way I know how to prepare myself for the next post. Also please LIKE this post and follow me on the site for all of my picks and reactions.

Last thing is my Henny Lock. It is only for those who like this post and follow me on the site. I gave picks for every game above. Yet, there is one pick that I am more confident on than the rest. I do want to reiterate to please gamble responsibly like I always do.

The Henny Lock of the Post is : Buffalo and Miami Ohio Over 60.5 points.
